Upgrade one minor version at a time, control plane first, then the nodes.

kubeadm (control plane)

sudo kubeadm upgrade plan
sudo kubeadm upgrade apply v1.36.5

First point your package repository at pkgs.k8s.io/core:/stable:/v1.36/ and upgrade the kubeadm package. Then drain each node, upgrade kubelet and kubectl, and uncordon it.
